Inc Appoints A. Corydon ("Cory") Meyer As President and Chief Executive Officer
MIAMI, Oct. 30 -- Catalina Lighting Inc CALA,
a leading international designer, manufacturer, and distributor of lighting
products for residential and office environments, announced today the
appointment of A. Corydon ("Cory") Meyer as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 30, 2006.
Cory Meyer has spent over 30 years in executive management positions with various consumer products manufacturers. He brings to Catalina a wealth of knowledge and leadership capability having implemented several turnarounds and product reorganizations with leading multi-divisional organizations. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Union Tools, a $100 million manufacturer of non-powered lawn and garden tools (shovels, rakes, hoses, etc.)
Bob Varakian will be stepping down from his position as President, CEO, and Board Member of Catalina, but will continue to be involved with the Company on an advisory basis. We would like to thank Bob for his many contributions to Catalina and wish him well in his future endeavors. "
